Worlds Tallest Woman Debate?

After writing my blog post about Sandy Allen, who I've always known to be the worlds tallest woman, I see there is actually a debate. Yao Defen of China, apparently claims to be taller although the Guiness World Book of Records has not verified.

Whats even more odd about Yao Defen is that her mother is 4'8. I still cannot find out how tall Yao claims to be, but at age 15 she stood 6'8. Does anyone know more about her or the debate. I'm guessing with China involved, its hard to get inside and measure truly measure her height.

In any case, for Sandy Allen, I hope she rests in peace. From what I saw of her on television she seemed to be a truly unique and wonderful person that the world will truly miss.
